  When I started this walk I intended to walk from Howe Green to Sandford Mill Lock, and then along the Chelmer & Blackwater Canal to either Maldon or Heybridge. However, due to all the rain that we had had the canal tow path was really muddy.

A walker I talked to advised me that it was even muddier after Paper Mill lock, so I decided to take the route up North Hill to Little Baddow and Danbury.
